For fellow meat lovers, note that the address changed in Sept 2015 - Google maps had it wrong. They are now located 10 blocks further east on Cesar Chavez. La Barbecue and Franklin are in a league by themselves. Don't be scared by the line up at La Barbecue - it moves quickly and is definitely not the 4 hour marathon at Franklin. Everything was great - brisket, beef rib, sausage, turkey, sides and the service. Stop by the smokers and chat with the staff -very friendly and knowledgable. But in the end, the brisket was the star

Awesome BBQ. Brisket melts in your mouth.

brisket like velvet, ribs you literally need no teeth to eat, and killer sausage. rub on brisket and ribs perfect, sauce spicy and delicious, homemade pickles spicy and crunchy.

Fantastic brisket and pork ribs. Sides are ok but who cares. Just order meat.

Brisket was outstanding. Almost as good as Franklin's. Pork ribs were very good and extremely tender. The beef rib is the king of ribs. A must have if you eat here. Chipotle coleslaw is a great compliment to the meat.

In this case, “La” is not a definite article referring to the “Cuisine Texicana” this relatively new joint says it serves; it’s an abbreviation referring to the first name of the co-owner LeAnn Mueller, granddaughter of the founder of Taylor’s famous Louie Mueller Barbecue (disclosure: LeAnn is a contributing photographer at Texas Monthly). Housed in a little trailer with a few picnic tables under old pecan and live oak trees, this eatery opened in 2011…
