Moist brisket lacks a bit of flavor, but is absolutely perfectly flakey. Definitely have to try the special recipe German BBQ sauce!

Asked for moist brisket. Fresh brisket, with beautiful bark and smoke ring. A bit heavy on smoke flavor but perfect texture. Pork roast was moist but lacked flavor. Ribs meaty, great flavor but meat seemed steamed and a led any "bite" sausage unremarkable

The chaps behind the counter are a lot of fun. The meats are chopped as you order. Unlike some of my favourite places such as Smitty's, Opies, Coopers the meats are not taken off the pit but out of a warmer. The moist brisket is excellent and the crust is very tasty. The meat perfectly cooked. The sausage is peppery an has a good snap to it. The pork ribs though are a little disappointing. They ha little crust and not enough flavour. However they do fall off the bone.

Lunch today a little disappointing. Brisket looked great but didn't have much flavor. Ribs were best but tasted more like pork roast - more so than the actual pork roast. Sausage was ok, but not my style.

The best briscuit sandwich I've ever had. It's always good here!

As popular as this Hill Country hamlet is among the day-tripping set, Fredericksburg has historically suffered from a surprising dearth of top-rate barbecue. No more. Just a mile and a half south of the knickknack and potpourri emporiums of bustling Main Street stands Cranky Frank’s Barbeque Company. Once inside the brightly colored building, make your way to the counter, where, guided by the menu above and whoever is manning the cutting board, you can place…
