Their sign now says "not franchised the original". Well let me say the original sucks. Unless you like overpriced dry flavorless meat then this the place for you.

sliced brisket was dry. Pork ribs were tuff. Had a chance to eat at another bbq joint but pickd here. Did i pick wrong? Seems like yes.

Brisket is nice and moist. Definitely worth the drop in when passing through Junction. Don't expect a cheap meal or friendly service.

The sign may claim that they’ve been smoking since 1953, but this joint opened in 1999. Current owner Mark Cooper is a grandson of George Cooper, so they’re sort for taking credit for a few decades of Cooper’s operation in Mason.
