Eh. It's BBQ in a convenience store. Sausage had a good flavor but was cold. Brisket was tender but not smokey. Green beans tasted spoiled but potato salad was good. Eh. I've had worse.

Cool little place, quintessential small town joint. Ribs - tremendous flavor of smoke with a touch of sweetness. Terrifically done as they were tender but clung nicely to the bone. Brisket - outstanding. Great smoke with just enough salt for flavor. Nothing overpowering, just tender, smokey goodness throughout. I now see why this gets dubbed best in easy Texas. Nothing keeping it from being an A in my book!

After some introductions and a few photos our conversation went straight to the subject of barbecue. Lyle, like…
