You Ate, We Drove

Our day-long pilgrimage to three of the best barbecue joints in the Dallas area began with a drive to Hutchins BBQ, in McKinney. Then it was on to a midday repast at Lockhart Smokehouse in Plano followed up with a feast at Pecan Lodge. Texas Monthly barbecue editor Daniel Vaughn and the famed pitmasters shared stories and secrets of the trade, while guests kept cool by enjoying Lone Star Beer kept ice-cold in YETI coolers.
