You Eat, We Drive.

Climb on board and join us for a day-long pilgrimage to three of the best barbecue joints in the Dallas area. On the TMBBQ Road Trip all you have to do is sit back, enjoy the scenery, and get ready to eat. We’ll take care of everything else.

The day begins with an early-morning drive from Dallas to Tyler, where we’ll enjoy a breakfast of champions at Stanley’s Famous Pit Bar-B-Q; after that, we’ll stop for a midday repast at The Slow Bone Barbeque in Dallas; and finally, we’ll finish up with a feast at Lockhart Smokehouse in Dallas.

In between, listen as barbecue editor Daniel Vaughn explains how the Texas Monthly team selects our top fifty joints, what he looks for in a slice of brisket, and other secrets of the trade. As the country’s only full-time barbecue editor, Vaughn has more than a few stories to tell. Ticket price includes beverages on the bus and one meal and beverage at each stop.
